LOVE ABANDONED

THE VIEW FROM INSIDE

2017-2019

This series grew out of my need to witness what had been left behind after catastrophe. These emptied houses, spaces, and landscapes represent the loneliness and silent deterioration experienced by people whose lives have been disrupted, in one way or another, by the failings of our governments. When we have lost our children to preventable hunger, our lovers to state-sanctioned violence, and our homes and our health to greed—what will be left? Where will we go? These are the questions I asked as I drove through the country alone in 2017-2019.
