I wrote Soulmates intially as a love poem for my boyfriend, however, as the poem grew and began to reveal itself, I realized that the poem was multidimensional.  It is a poem about not only love between a man and a woman, but also about love between me and God.  How we connect and have always connected and how it is this love that helps me to transcend. It is one of my favorite poems to date.
